Marina Hassapopoulou

Marina Hassapopoulou is Assistant Professor in the Department of Cinema Studies and Associate Co-Director of the Moving Image Archiving and Preservation program, at Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She has published articles and book chapters on topics including interactive cinema, virtual and augmented reality, digital spectatorship, border cinemas, fan studies, representations of Hellenism in U.S. media, hybrid pedagogy, expanded television, and digital humanities. She is currently working on her book, Interactive Cinema: The Ethics of Participation and Collectivity in the Era of (Dis)Connection. Working on a range of media besides print, her projects include cultural videos for the University of Oregon's folklore archives, multimedia scholarship, as well as online open-access collaborative initiatives including the student-focused Interactive Media Archive and the online directory focused on cross-pollinations between Cinema, Media Studies and Digital Humanities.
